The British boxer is set to fight the American YouTuber in an eight round match which will be broadcast in real-time on Netflix.
British boxer Anthony Joshua said he will "overwhelm entirely" Jake Paul and "overpower" his opponent as the two fighters came face-to-face to build hype for next month's heavyweight fight.
Former two time unified heavyweight champion Anthony Joshua battles social media star turned fighter Paul - in what is, by the numbers, a huge uneven pairing - at Miami's venue on December 19th.
Fighter's Mindset
"I will break his face and damage his physique. I aim to demonstrate I'm superior," Joshua, 35 years old, said.
"I plan to overwhelm him. That's how fighters think.
"I will genuinely try to injure him. That's my goal."
Respectful Exchange
In spite of such comments, a calm Anthony Joshua and internet personality Paul - typically known for his dramatics - shared friendly words and maintained decorum with each other.
Paul instead attacked ex Joshua's rival the Cameroonian fighter and called him "not serious" after Ngannou turned down a match opportunity.
Targeting Fury
Joshua, in the meantime, targeted UK opponent Tyson Fury - and rejected a £1m bet 'The Gypsy King' claims he will make on a Paul victory.
"[Paul] is better than Tyson Fury - he's actually sitting here," the boxer stated.
"I respect him for that."
Legitimate Opponent
Despite saying he intends to hurt Jake Paul, Joshua refused to speak negatively about his rival's boxing ability.
"Jake is a credible opponent," he remarked.
Paul's History
Paul - who originally gained popularity on the television network - has mainly fought mixed martial artists or past-their-prime fighters since turning professional.
He lost to Briton Tommy Fury in last year.
Commercial Attraction
Still, the inexperienced fighter remains one of boxing's greatest money-making draws, regularly earning substantial paydays.
Prediction and Belief
The 28-year-old anticipated a knockout win in rounds four or five and asserted he would prevent the highly-expected Joshua–Fury fight, which is apparently under discussion for 2026.
"It's going to be myself against Tyson Fury in the coming year," Jake Paul stated.
Physical Difference
As the two fighters met for the traditional stare-down, with their height and weight contrast on show, it emphasized just how unlikely this whole event is - and how astonishing it is that the match is really going ahead.
